The Two Rules of Installing Strategies
Rule # 1: If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
This rule helps everyone focus on installing strategies that make a positive difference in life. Install strategies that address a presenting problem, or that generate positive improvements in life.
Rule # 2: The new strategy must work as automatically as the old strategy
Even a perfect strategy will fail if it does not automatically activate when needed.
Use Anchors to Chain TOTE's together
Anchoring Process
- Recall a Vivid Past Experience
- Anchor (provide) a stimulus at the peak of the state
- Change the state away from the peak state
- Evoke the anchored state (test)
Keys to Powerful Anchors
- Intensity of the state in which the anchor is provided
- Timing of the anchor, or the delivery during the peak of the desired state
- Uniqueness of the anchor, or the guarantee that it will not fire inadvertently against one's will
- Replicability of the anchor, or the ability to produce it at will
- Number of times the process is repeated. 3, 7 and 21 times seem to be magic numbers.
Collapsing anchors is used to replace a negative anchor with a positive one.
Chaining anchors are used to step a client from a state of inaction to a state of action, or from a state of overreaction to a state of acceptance.
Test and Future Pace
The process of installing a new strategy is not complete unless and until you are sure that the new strategy will kick in automatically and execute flawlessly in a variety of future conditions.
Lather, Rinse, Repeat
To strengthen the new neural networks repetition and repetition in a variety of situations forms a habit.
