Ecological wisdom does not consist in understanding how to live in accord with nature; it consists in understanding how to get humans to agree on how to live in accord with nature.

Of course it's one thing to feel at one with nature individually, and quite another to align one's life with ecological practice, particularly because there is not much cultural or infrastructural support for a really ecological lifestyle in the industrialized world.
It's yet quite another thing to participate in real world infrastructural change, while also participating in changing culture. We talk a good game individually, but collectively we have a long long way to go.
Will the current generation be the one, or the next to "get it"?
